Several years ago, I became addicted to crocheting and I started Hook Me Up! Crochet. Well, for the last couple of years, I’ve been overcome with school and work and haven’t really updated it. Now my interest is more in ALL things domestic, rather than just in crochet, so I’m going to let the URL expire.
The site will die. *melodramatic sniffle*
BUT I still get close to 500 hits a day there, so until it expires, I will forward everything to Joyful Abode. I hope people who come here from there will choose to bookmark this page, update their links, and tell their friends.
If you followed the link to Hook Me Up! Crochet from another site, please email the webmaster of that website to let them know the URL has changed. Thanks.
If you were looking for the crochet gallery, it is now at my flickr.
My patterns are now here:
- Water’s Edge Cover-Up
- Solomon’s Knot Shawl
- Beaded Choker
- A Rose for Mother – Bath Pouf
- Professional Hat
- Shelly Scarf
- Blue Star Cloche

- Vertical Stripe Scarf
Contact me if you’re interested in using my patterns to create items to sell to raise money for charities. You may not sell items made from these patterns (even if you change them slightly) without my permission or for personal profit. Please refrain from republishing my patterns to other websites (including blogs), but feel free to link to this website!
If you came here from Hook Me Up! Crochet and you were looking for something specific, but didn’t find it in this entry, please comment to let me know. I’ll do my best to add it to this post.
Thanks, everyone!

Hi! I'm Emily. I'm a Navy wife and stay at home mom of two beautiful children. I cook simple, delicious, grain-free recipes, do crafts, decorate my home on a budget, and keep a happy household. I tandem breastfeed, babywear, cloth diaper, practice elimination communication, homebirth, and co-sleep, but I'm not a hippie.

I have figured out how to make the Solomon’s knot stitch. I have a pattern that is for a double knot stitch and I can’t grasp how to do rows 2-3,4,
row 2, sc into sc between 3rd & 4h knot sts from hook, *make 2 knot sts, sk 1 sc between knots, sc into next sc between knots (double knot), rep from * to end of row. turn. (3 double knots at beg of row & 54 double knots) – I’m so confused.
row 3, make 3 knot sts, sc in first sc double knto st to end of row, turn (3 double knots at beg of row and 54 double knots).
rows 4-44 rep row 3.
Can you make this any easier to understand.
The pattern is “Lover’s Knot Shawl”
Thank you for any help.

Heliina, I will try to get it up soon, just for you! I have to find the files, but I think I’ve got it…
Hi there! I used to frequent your old website years ago when I was learning to crochet and I loved your valentine’s brooch pattern. I, of course, lost it since then and wanted to make a few and was led to your new site here…. and poo! There is no link to the old pattern! Will you be posting it anytime soon? or are you willing to share it via email? Please please? I adore it!!!

When I taught myself to crochet, I used some great videos at stitchguide.com. It looks like now they’ve been moved to this site. Give it a look.
Also, Donna Kooler’s Encyclopedia of Crochet is a great book you might want to check out.
I’ve wanted to learn to crochet for a while, but I keep putting it off.
Do you know of any good online tutorials, or books to help me learn?
