Out, damn’d spot! out, I say! Easy Blood Removal

Bug bites, thorns, skinned knees… it’s easy to get blood on your clothes.

And it’s easy to get it out too. I don’t know what is in this magical product, but Carbona has a blood/protein remover that works wonders and completely removes blood from fabrics. All you do is apply a bit of the solution, undiluted, to the fabric, and rub. Sometimes it takes another couple drops of the solution, and more rubbing, but it has never failed me.

My little sister also said that if you bleed on something, you can spit on it and your spit can remove your own (or a close relative’s) blood… I haven’t tried it, but maybe the next time I’m out bleeding on my clothes in public without my Carbona stuff, I will give it a test.

I know this sounds like a commercial, but the love I feel for this Carbona product (and really, their whole line of specialized stain removers) is true and pure.

Wow, I'm glad the spit thing worked for you and saved your skirt!

Testimonial! A rather icky one, but still...

Last weekend I was wearing a lovely new khaki green linen skirt and I somehow managed to make my leg bleed quite a bit. (I just stood up and then there was blood..I think it was a shaving cut misbehaving.) Anyway, blood all down my new skirt, aah! Remembering the spit tip, I decided to give it a try. It took a lot of paper towels to blot and press, and a heck of a lot of spit...but now there's not a mark to be seen!

I will say though, it might be worth keeping a bottle of Carbona around if you're clumsy, or have kids (always accident prone, right?), but in an clothing emergency, go for it!

Um, Hydrogen peroxide works the same way. It even lifts out dried blood.

Does it work on blood that's already been washed?
I ruined a scrub top last week by putting peroxide on it during work (wanted to get some of it out since I have to work with clients), which set the stain.. then it didn't come out when I washed it :-(
  • Shampoo works, too, if you're out of Carbona.
