Have you ever tried making lasagna noodles from scratch for your lasagna?  I made some fresh cheese a couple of weeks ago, and it seemed a shame to use storebought noodles to make a lasagna with, so I threw together a batch of pasta, rolled it out, and used it.  The texture and creaminess of the freshly made noodles transformed the dish!  LOML and our friends we had for dinner that night all raved about it.
Oh, and I love to add a lot of basil to the sauce too: it adds another nice touch of summer to the dish!
