Ranch Cheese Ball

Ranch Cheese Ball

So delicious, and so easy.

8 oz. Cream Cheese

half a packet of dry Ranch dressing mix

Mix it up.

Chill for a few minutes, so it’s not so sticky.

Shape into a ball.

Cover with Jane’s Krazy Mixed-Up Pepper.

Serve with wheat thins, bagel chips, Melba toast, or some other hard cracker (not like ritz).

The best part? You can keep all of the ingredients on hand in case you need to whip something up to take to a party, or unexpected guests drop in.

Julia, are you asking because you don’t like pepper or because you don’t want to buy the pepper?
I am not a huge pepper fan but this stuff is SO GOOD and surprisingly mild, so if it’s the former, give it a try.

If it’s the latter though, I’m not sure… I made a sun-dried tomato version once and put grated Parmesan cheese on the outside. It was really good, but totally different from this recipe…

What can be used in place of the pepper stuff?

Welcome, Nicholas. Glad to have you on board. :)

I can’t think of something that would really create a similar effect, but I did another cheese ball and patted grated Parmesan cheese around the outside… that would be good, but it wouldn’t be the same.

Just found your blog and have added it to my list of regular reads. The aprons are adorable!

Is there a substitute for the pepper you used in this recipe? I’ve been wracking my brain attempting to come up with a sub with no luck!

Why do I live in a country with no Ranch dressing mix!? It’s a travesty! Actually I’ve found a couple substitutions, but I’m not convinced it’s the same as the delicious Hidden Valley packs you can buy in the US!
