Country Fried Steak With Gravy Again

Country-fried steak is another dish that’s not quite so photogenic. But it’s so amazing. We hadn’t had it in a while, so we were both pretty excited about it. The recipe is so simple, and the meat is so juicy and tender. The gravy is quick and easy, and the entire meal is just… delicious. Can I go on a little more?

    I don't know how you say it's not photogenic, it made my mouth water.
  • We call it chicken fried steak. I recall the story is that it's an old cowboy food that the trail cooks would serve to make the cowboys feel like they were having a chicken dinner amid an endless parade of beef meals. It's not served much up here in the midwest, but when I lived in Texas it was always on the menu everywhere.
