I made this today and it did not turn out right. The crust is not soft at all (it is light, though). One thing I did differently is put the water, yeast, and honey in at the end, because my machine says liquids go in last. Also, the top is not shaped right.

I will try this recipe today - I've been looking for a bread recipe my kids would like for their lunch sandwiches....hope this is it. By the way - your dog looks just like mine (Bailey) - do you know her breed? We believe our dog is part border collie, but unsure what she is mixed with.

Will try this recipe. I just made a slightly different version in my bread machine today and loved it. I just got a machine a week ago and am having fun using it (still like making bread by hand much better but life is crazy right now!) BTW, I slathered Nutella on mine too---YUM!

Thanks for the great recipe! I've only made two loaves of bread in my bread machine so far and the first was from a different website. It was too moist, airy, and it tasted yeasty. This recipe is a keeper, though. It is perfect for slicing thin and making sandwiches. I used AP flour and it turned out great. I love that it is inexpensive to make and uses stuff that I always have on hand.

I've never seen a bread machine recipe that calls for adding any liquid (oil) anywhere except at the bottom of the mix, and I've never seen one that dissolved the yeast at the beginning. So this is new.

The bread looks good. I will give it a try!!
