I was going to write you a nice post about chocolate chip pancakes tonight, but I seem to have come down with a cold of some sort, so I’ll be going to bed soon. Unfortunately, tomorrow I can’t spend the day sipping soup and reading in bed… I have a craft show. Merry Meridian Market…

These muffins are amazingly rich and delicious, almost like a brownie, but with the fluffiness of a muffin. When I was in college, before they switched to Otis Spunkmeyer, the little bakery in the food court used to have AMAZING chocolate chocolate-chunk muffins. I’d buy one and eat it all day long (they were huge)….

I don’t think I new what a bunting was called until last year or so… I just thought “string of flags” or “pennants” or something. But a bunting it is, and it’s cute as anything. I made this bunting as a holiday decoration, and rather than sticking with red and green (not my fave, really),…

In June, we adopted Zora from the East Mississippi Animal Rescue. This photo is dated in May, because we really adopted her in May, but then went out of town, so we took her home in June when we got back. Since then, she’s been a wonderful companion and an excellent cuddler. It’s so fun…

Last night, right after I wrote that cheerful post about all the updates, I BROKE MY WEBSITE. Don’t ask me how because I don’t know and neither does my host support team. It was down for about 12 hours, and if you tried to visit during that time, you probably got directed to My homepage…

I spent most of the day updating the website… adding things, trying to tweak stuff. First, you’ll notice there’s a new link up at the top. Archives! Go ahead and click it and let me know what you think. If you click a month, it expands, and I think that’s pretty awesome. Second, now when…

Check it out. I have cards with aviator wings on them, for Navy and Marines… great for winging announcements, invitations, thank-yous, or general notes. Also, emblems/insignia/whatever you want to call them. The Naval officers’ crest, and the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor for Marines. Patches for the squadrons here at the great NAS Meridian, MS. VT-7…

I’m really sad because I wrote a whole big Thanksgiving post and after it posted successfully, it seems to have disappeared… I’m too sad about it right now to write it all over again. So I’ll just post a very short one. Zora helped me cook.

Here’s this year’s Wednesday schedule. I didn’t end up prepping the celery and cheese ball stuff, but I can do that tomorrow. It’ll only take a minute. Stuffing prep: Here are the lovely sourdough loaves I got at the gourmet shop in town. Sorry about the weird color… sometimes my camera doesn’t cooperate.

I haven’t actually done any prep for thanksgiving at all. I haven’t made any lists or schedules or anything! Luckily, last year I did this… pre-Thanksgiving Preparations. Good stuff! I’m brining the turkey again (and now I know how I did it last year AND how long it took to cook last year), and making…

These are non-themed cards that are going to be great for “Welcome to the base” notes for your new neighbors, thank you notes for winging gifts, quick letters to let your family know how training is going, invitations to events or parties, or just about anything you can think of. I’m starting out with: “Wings…

I’ve got to say… after a couple mostly disappointing craft shows, my open house was insanely refreshing! As much as I prepped and set up for this, it was much less stressful than a show… I didn’t have to pack my things into boxes and shove them in the car at 6 in the morning…
