I just gotta say, it’s hard to take decent photos when you’re congested and sniffly and your eyes are watering and you’re sneezing and… Yeah, when you’ve obviously spent a lovely chunk of time outside in the gorgeous weather over the weekend, and “caught” allergy symptoms out there. Stinking pollen! Also? I win the prize…

The plants are all doing pretty well. They look bright green and very happy – they get hours and hours of sunshine every day. The biggest tomato plant has a few yellow flowers on it, and everything else looks perky. These little guys poking up are the first of the basil. Grow, little green friends!…

We’ve been getting spinach in our CSA basket, but I’m not sure if my husband has actually gotten to eat any of it… I keep making creamed spinach for myself and gobbling it up for lunches. Can you blame me though? It only takes a few minutes to make (depending on how cooked you like…

I went grocery shopping on Tuesday and bought a great-looking ripe, heavy (so theoretically juicy) cantaloupe. Wednesday I cut it in half and ate half of it. Thursday I cut up the other half and put it in my lunchbox to take to work with me. Me to husband, “I’m sorry I ate the whole…

This week in our CSA basket, we got a couple bunches of adorable broccolini. Sometimes it’s called “baby broccoli” but it’s really not. It’s a cross between broccoli and kai-lan, which is Chinese broccoli (so says Wikipedia). It’s very delicate and not something you want to overcook, so light steaming or sauteing/stir-frying it are good…

I can’t believe there’s only 16ish weeks left. Less than 4 months. Time’s a-ticking! This coming Friday I have an appointment at the hospital, and then that evening we’re having our first Bradley childbirth class with a local instructor. Still haven’t scheduled a massage though! Everything is going smoothly.

I guess if I say “baked” then of course they’re in the oven and I don’t also need to say “oven fries” but… oh well. That’s what this post is gonna be called. So we bought all these potatoes because, well… I’ve been making stews lately and potatoes are good in there (I might use…

So you know all the decluttering and organizing I’ve been doing? Tomorrow we’re going to try to get rid of some of the clutter by having a yard sale. Some of it has already sold because I listed it early on Craigslist, but now we’re just hoping to get rid of the rest and make…

It seems that here in Hanford, we’re getting out of the rainy/foggy season finally. The sun is shining, the skies are blue, my husband is flying more and more, and I’m shedding my jackets and hoodies and getting out in the garden. It’s still cool enough that Zora is enjoying basking in the sun, rather…

Not my favorite photos of the series, and not my favorite shirt in the world – I just had had several dark shirts in a row and wanted something brighter in the picture. haha. I feel like I’m getting huge, but I know this is only the beginning! …and I’ve been sitting here with this…

So we have this great room that gets TONS of sunlight during the day, and when we moved here we had planned to use it as the playroom for my in-home childcare. But then I got my job as a nanny (outside of my home) and decided not to pursue getting my childcare license, because…

This weekend I went to San Francisco with girlfriends, and got back late last night, so didn’t take my 22-week pictures until today. But here they are, along with my note to Baby Girl. Does anyone have a pregnant-yoga DVD to recommend? I feel like I want to stretch and stuff, but the stretches I’m…
