Welcome, Anneliese Claire!

After 42 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy, and a lot of patience, Anneliese Claire was born!

And let me tell you… if you’re pregnant and want to go into labor, I figured it out.

It’s not walking, sex, castor oil, or spicy food.

It isn’t eggplant, acupressure, a special pizza, pineapples, or bouncing on a yoga ball.

The only thing that will make you go into labor for sure (it worked for me, so I know!) is watching the X-Men movie. While eating homemade graham crackers. Yup.

I’ve been meaning to type up the whole big birth blog post for a while now, but my brain just isn’t in that mode right now. So until then, I’ll appease y’all with photos of my beautiful baby girl.

My favorite people!

So sweet, taking a nap.

And today, at 9 days old:

Thank you all for your VERY sweet comments, emails, tweets, etc over the last several weeks! I know I haven’t been the best at responding/replying (probably best at twitter these days, since I can tweet on my phone while I nurse) but I appreciate every word of excitement and encouragement you’ve shared with me.

I know this is an old post I am responding to.. but I had to do it when I saw the title of this post. I found your website looking for a corn on the cob cooking technique, and ended up going to your About page and then here. My oldest daughter shares the same name as your daughter. Mine was born in 2006, was premature, and I can’t say that the X-men had anything to do with the timing of the Big Delivery… but aside from the slight variation in spelling, I have an Annelise Claire of my own. So, high snaps for the corn on the cob recipe, and high snaps for choice of name for your daughter! :-)

  2. I love how her legs are still folded up like they were in your belly in the second to last picture :) So precious! Congrats!

I am always go go go….My husband and I just went Primal and I was so excited to find all of your awesome recipes here!!! I love the cake, cookies and dips!! I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to have cake on my birthday in a few weeks!! I also was worried about what to give my 3yr old for snacks, and I was very happy to find your graham cracker recipe too! Thank you sooo much for posting!! And a huge Congrats on your baby girl!!! I hope its all going well for you!! Welcome to Mommyhood!

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! She's beautiful!

I hate to bring this up, but the contact page doesn't seem to be working. I click submit, and it goes to a 404 Error page.

  11. I've discovered your blog via Twitter. I have a 3 year old (was breastfed 'til 18 mos) and an 8 month old (still going!). Just wanted to encourage you that your efforts to nurse your daughter are SO worthwhile!! Yes, the first two months are definitely the most challenging, but by the time you get to month 6…month 12…when your baby is sick, or tired, or anxious, or hurt…besides hungry!…you will be so glad that you kept on keepin' on! I just started eating primally a couple of months ago and wanted to say what an inspiration you are. :) Wish that I could bring you a hot primal meal, new mama! GO GIRL! And congratulations on your beautiful family.
