I’ve “broken” my current site even more, by working on the new layout… so much for the “theme test drive” plugin. Sidebars are screwed up, thumbnails are gone, who knows what else? I’m sorry it looks SO BAD. I’m having a few issues with the new theme but hopefully will get them worked out shortly.
I may have to go live with the new theme before it’s finished, once I get it relatively usable. I hate that because I wanted a big exciting reveal with it JUST THE WAY I WANTED… but the current state of things is so depressing I want to get it switched as soon as possible. Are you with me?
To sum up:
- The current site is ugly as sin.
- I know it.
- It won’t be that way forever.
- It’s going to be WAY better when I change over to a new theme.
- But it might not be WAY better all at once.
- Sorry.
- This is embarrassing for me.
I’m trying to keep things in perspective… there are much much more important things for me to be concerned with at this point. We’re getting ready to move (oh yeah, I haven’t told you yet? I should post about that soon), there’s a sweet baby sleeping in the other room who wants me to cuddle, there’s also a sweet husband whose work schedule is about to get VERY BUSY, not to mention the poor neglected dog.
Still though, my blog is a bit unsettling (to me) in this state of disarray.

Don’t be so hard on yourself! At least you have your key colours (blue and red) and style sorted. I love the simple blue and white drawn icons you are using. One can tell that you have style from the interior decor of your baby’s room!
Is this “ugly as sin” theme the one currently up? If so, I think it looks alright! It’s much more clean cut than mine is. I really REALLY need to learn how to do some sort of coding and design so that I can make my blog less Blogspot/Blogger generic and more my own. So this? This is AMAZING as far as I’m concerned!!
It’s fixed now, not ugly as sin anymore! So what you’re seeing is the good/new one.
The other one was really BROKEN looking – things were overlapping that shouldn’t have been, things were cut off, etc. You would’ve known you were looking at the horrid one.
MOST blogger/blogspot blogs look really generic. I’ve only seen a few that look REALLY customized… have you thought about coming over to the WordPress side? hehe.
Don’t worry about it….we all love your site no matter what!! Take your time and make it what you want!

Luckily Baby Girl has been taking a nap so I’ve had some time to work on it. About to get it up in an acceptable-but-still-not-done state.

Aww… I feel ya. I was playing around on WordPress today because Blogger is getting just a little too annoying. After an hour of “THIS IS MAKING MY BRAIN HURT!” I gave up.
No worries. It’ll be awesome before you know it.
aw i’ve been using wordpress for years, and LOVE it. But any time I do a new layout it is a little brain-hurty. Especially when trying to do awesome custom stuff like I’m trying to do now.
I think I’m going to make it go live without all the awesome custom stuff… and worry about it later. you know? At least it won’t look like total trash like it does now.
