This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Bliss Living. All opinions are 100% mine.
When I was still pregnant, I started thinking about possibly getting one of those mom necklaces. Not the tacky blingy ones that say #1 MOM! in rhinestones 4” tall in the middle of your chest… and those “birthstone kids” (I know you know what I’m talking about) aren’t really my style either.
So I’ve looked around a bit, and found a few I like, but I still haven’t bought one. I was looking at Bliss Living’s Mother’s Jewelry and found several that are nice – not too “squishy,” if you know what I mean.

The only problem (besides picking a favorite) is that they don’t sell the charms separately. So I were to order one now with Anneliese’s name and “birth stone” (fake, but you know) and then have another baby, I’d have to order a whole other necklace if I wanted to add a matching charm for the new baby! Seems a little wasteful…

I also love the one up there of the family holding hands. But that also has the same issue of having to order a new one when you have another baby! I guess these would be great if you’re finished having children (as long as no surprises come your way!) or if you don’t mind ordering a whole new necklace to get another charm in the future. The engraving is done by hand, and you have several fonts to pick from – I think I like the typewriter one a lot.

Do you have a special “mother necklace” you wear? Or another keepsake, besides your actual baby, that you treasure which reminds you of your little one( s)? Tell me about it in the comments!

Oh, there’s the ‘hip to be me’ company that allows you to build your own necklaces. You can add charms/birthstones separately without buying the chain… http://www.hiptobeme.com/buildyours.html
For my first Mother’s Day, my husband gave me a blue cameo of the angel Gabriel (my son’s name). My son is now 12 and I can count the number of times I have taken the necklace off.
Hi Emily,
Just wanted to let you know that I wear a charm necklace from Stella & Dot. I have a “C” charm for my son’s initial, and then I have a heart charm with it. I plan on adding new initials as we have more children. All charms are sold separately. They also have other symbols and birth stones. Natalie Wilkinson is a consultant, check out her website: http://www.stelladot.com/nataliewilkinson. I’m sure she could answer any questions you have.
I really like this gals idea for a necklace, but once again you’d have to be done with the babies!

I think I will be ordering one, soon, I am all done – four is my limit! Would love more, but it is what it is. All done here.
Anyhow, the artist from that store is a real sweetheart and is great to order from and work with.
I like your first photo, those charms are really cool. Even better since they have my oldest daughters name – Vivian!

2 years ago I was pregnant for the first time and my husband got me a lovely gold oval locket (from Tiffany’s- swoon) for Valentines Day telling me that it’d likely be the last time I got a super expensive present for a while(children change everything, after all). But a few weeks later I miscarried. So when I got pregnant again and successfully gave birth to my healthy and beautiful baby boy, I asked my husband to bring the locket back to the store to get engraved with our baby’s first initial. I wore it all of the time until he began to be really grabby. I don’t want the chain to break when he snatches at it. It represents my family, such as it is. A present from my husband signifying our first baby that didn’t stay with us, and our second that brings us joy every day.

Beautiful. What a wonderful gift to get and be able to use for both your babies. <3
My favorite is the one with the family holding hands. I can’t quite see how big it is – I mean if it is too big (deep) for wearing under clothes.

A lot of my friends have a mother’s ring with the birthstones. I was thinking about getting one, but again I would have to wait until I’m finished having kids.

oh i like that idea! Can you add stones when you have more kids or do you have to wait till you’re “done”? I love rings!

I am sure that they could add a stone w/each new baby. I just don’t know how much that would cost. I guess you would have to research that idea. I love rings too!!

I don’t have one yet, but I love the first ones you have pictured. I have been searching for one that “fits” me. I agree with you, I am not into the “I am the best mom” fake bling or the birthstone booties or kids. Maybe I will have to share this link with the hubs as a Christmas hint

I have done a search on Etsy for stack rings – that way you can add a thin band with name or birthstone for each additional children.

I do. Mine is all of the kids names in different fonts on different shaped charms. It also has a heart which I like to represent for my angel baby girl born too soon at 21 weeks. This way I don’t have to go through the awkward “I have 5 kids but only 4 living” thing everytime someone sees it. Anyway, I love mine.

Oops…
I found some great stuff on Etsy though. And I got this cute necklace from a craft show earlier this year, it’s a branch with 3 cute little birds on it.

I wear Laughing Starfish loops (nursing necklaces) A LOT. I love Dorota and all of her designs are stunning. I also am gifted one piece of real birthstone jewelry each Mother’s Day after the birth of a child. A Peridot ring, aquamarine stud earrings and am looking forward to an emerald piece this coming Mothers Day!
