This is a compensated review by BlogHer and HomeGoods.
What Is It?
HomeGoods is a store where you can find all sorts of items for your home – décor, kitchen things, even some furniture!
My Thoughts:
I had never actually been to a HomeGoods stand-alone store, but always loved the décor section in the back of TJMaxx, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to check out a whole store of that! It’s not somewhere to go when you need a specific thing. I went hoping to find a griddle and an olive oil bottle for our new house for when we move – little Christmas present for ourselves – but didn’t find either one. But it’s a great place to go when you want to spend some time looking around, browsing, and maybe find a treasure or two. I doubt there’s anyone who wouldn’t find something they love in HomeGoods since there is such variety in the selection of items there, so it would also be a great place to find gifts.

My husband and I went together last week and found several things we liked. The pound and roll tower is a Christmas present for Anneliese, though she probably won’t be able to play with it until Spring. (There were lots of other Melissa and Doug toys and puzzles there! Love them!) The Lindor truffles are for our stockings, since we both love dark chocolate. Sea salt and Vanilla extract are for our kitchen since we are low on both (though we’re making a new batch of vanilla extract now). And the beautiful bamboo cutting board is for us, as a housewarming gift since we’re moving soon.

The SupaFine Print:
BlogHer and Homegoods provided me with a gift card to facilitate my review, but I promise these are my real thoughts and opinions of the store.
Hi! I'm Emily. I'm a Navy wife and stay at home mom of two beautiful children. I cook simple, delicious, grain-free recipes, do crafts, decorate my home on a budget, and keep a happy household. I tandem breastfeed, babywear, cloth diaper, practice elimination communication, homebirth, and co-sleep, but I'm not a hippie.

I’m hoping to find a handstamped necklace under the tree.

I would love to buy cute toys for my son to play with, they have a great selection of wooden toys! I myself would love a laptop or a camera!

I am on the search for the perfect jewelery box for my sister for Xmas! HomeGoods is a great idea for a place to look. For myself, I don’t really want anything except watching my daughters get everything they asked Santa for…but something warm like a new jacket or Uggs sounds great right now!

My children both want video games for Christmas which they will be so excited to see that they got. I don’t want anything this year for Christmas.
I am not looking for any more gifts this year, I finished my shopping early! But I can’t wait to see my son “open” his gifts on his first Christmas! I am crossing my fingers for a new diaper bag.

for my children I hope to buy them each something they really are wanting and hoping for and then something they don’t expect or know they want at all until they see it. My husband will get the list of tech type stuff he wants and he is buying himself a big screen tv as he is not longer happy with the one he has.
me, oh I never get anything!!!
I am hoping for books and music this year.
I am getting clothes for a lot of people this year. We just had a new H&M store open up nearby, and I plan to take advantage! Myself, I’m hoping to get a few more pieces for my China collection!

Ever since learning how to sew, I’m really hoping for fabrics or patterns or some other sort of crafty awesome. For other folks? I like the little “make you smile” gifts. Something small and meaningful.
We have a stand alone store about 30 minutes away and I love it. I need to make a visit sometime soon.
I haven’t settled on too many gifts for the fam yet but I know I want to pick up a cute laptop case for my college student sister in law. I want to be in our new house for Christmas. Period. Anything that helps that happen would be appreciated.

I’m right there with you. Would LOVE to be settled in our new house by Christmas.
I’d like to pick up a teapot for the friend that actually introduced me to HomeGoods,
and one for myself, as mine gets *heavy* use and the crazing is starting to turn into cracks.

I’m hoping to find some new tea cup sets for my sister. And for myself, an iPad would be wonderful.

Earlier this year, I was married to the man I never thought I’d find, so he is my Christmas present.
As for others, I’ll be hosting our family Christmas dinner and baking up some lovely treats to send home with them!
I love the holidays!
Jen
Husband is going to get a device to put get all his photo negatives digitized!
I’m hoping to find something nice for the hubs…maybe a comfy bathrobe. I’m hoping to unwrap earings
I love HomeGoods for picking up fancy bath stuff, like bath salts and bubble bath, for my mother-in-law and grandma. I get candles & candle holders for my sister-in-law, and Christmas decorations for myself!
This year, I hope someone picks up a new set of cookie sheets for me!
I’d like to buy gifts for everyone in my office (The office is small–thats 4 people besides myself) Probably coffee mugs–which I can then fill with coffee.
I’m hoping to get clothes myself.

I’m hoping to find some more eco-friendly/useable and functional gifts for people this year, not just stuff for stuff’s sake. I.e. I’m also trying to make some dryer balls for a few peeps on my list. I’m also hoping to unwrap some eco-friendly stuff. I have a reusable coffee filter, some cloth napkins and some non-stick eco frying pans on my list this year.

I am hoping to find some fun stocking stuffers for my kids and husband. I would LOVE some new clothes
I got my husband a few little things and I’m looking forward to going shopping and picking out my own presents
I would buy a ton of kitchen accessories for my daughter. She is just starting out and in need of everything from tea towels to mixing bowls.
This year I picked up a Jr metal detector for my son. He’s going to be soooo excited!! For my husband I found a couple of really nice books on WWII and American spies in history; he’s a history fanatic. For me, I’m hoping for a new pair of slippers and maybe a book or two.

I bought my husband a laptop (woo!), and will most likely be hitting up HomeGoods since I now know they have Melissa & Doug toys for my baby girl! How fabulous. As for me, I want a sewing machine that’s good for beginners…any recommendations?
I am making vanilla extract for my coworkers and love finding books for everyone else on my list. I hope to find an annual state park pass under the tree this year.

I’m searching for the perfect hammock stand for someone and am hoping to find a starbucks card under the tree!
Games, dolls and more for my kidss! And I am hoping for a gift certificate to the spa!
We don’t have a HomeGoods in our town, but we while visiting our daughter in NJ for Thanksgiving, we went shopping there 4 times, 2 different stores! I bought a muffin pan for her, a covered skillet for my son-in-law, some Christmas kitchen towels for myself and a very cute little red chair for my other daughter. I am hoping to find a red dutch oven pan under my tree!
I’d love to find the perfect decorative pillows for my mom! I’m hoping for a food processor myself
I need to think of something to get my dad. He’s always the hardest to shop for–one of those “all I want is your love” types. As for what I’ll be unwrapping… I’m hoping for an iPod Touch from the kind and generous and loving parents, but possibly not for the reasons you’re thinking of: I’ll be going (back) to China come spring, and I’ll need a portable character dictionary!
I want to get a computer for my mom and I am hoping for a really cool compost bin!
I’m going to buy baseball tickets for my husband, and will probably gift him with my old Kindle if I end up with a new one. My parents always buy what they want, so it’s hard to shop for them. On the topic of Home Goods, my mom and I found one an hour from us this spring, and we’ve driven there a few times to shop. There’s one in New Hampshire that we practically live in during the summer, and to find one in Virginia was a beautiful thing.
As for me, what I really want is a phone call from our adoption agency. My husband and I have had our home study finished since February, and we’d like a baby for Christmas, please.

I’m hoping to find some jewelry for my nieces and some clothes for my husband. After that I’m DONE shopping! I’ve been wanting to check out HomeGoods for a while now. Maybe I’ll give it a shot now!
Oh, and I really want my hubby to get me some Le Creuset for Christmas!

I’m hoping to find the perfect gift for my mommy friend grab bag… they’ve been my lifeline since become a mom and I couldn’t imagine parenting without them so it has to be something that would make their day!
I’m hoping for some crafting/knitting books, monogrammed somethings, and gift cards to shop guilt-free!
I am hoping to find Good Eats: The Middle Years for my second oldest brother and a set of perfect pushups for my sister’s boyfriend. As for me, I wouldn’t mind unwrapping a pair of softstar moccasins.
Planning to make some homemade goods like cookies/cakes (including gluten-free), maybe make some kimchi if I’m brave. Hope to receive anything homemade or local!

I completely forgot about HomeGoods! I have one around here that’s huge. I should do some of my Christmas shopping there. I didn’t know they had Melissa and Doug toys there!! They’re so expensive online. Thanks for sharing!!
For Christmas I’m hoping to find things that people need. I know my boyfriend wants slippers and I don’t even know where to begin to find a nice pair of slippers. I have no idea what to get my dad and I still plan on getting more toys for my son. For myself I want shoes and some jeans that actually fit nice!
I am in the process of finding fun tennis stuff for my husband because he recently took up tennis. Also looking forward to some great books and maybe a piece of jewelry or two for me!

I love the holidays! This year we are a little strapped for cash so I am trying to be creative in my gifts. I have been getting ideas for things I can make for people this year, food included! Thanks to your blog I have lots of yummy recipes to choose from! My in-laws recently got to try the zucchini bread I made and loved it! Thanks for the recipe! I, myself am either hoping for more cooking utensils, because I love cooking but find I don’t have a lot of the things I need to do so. Also, a camcorder would be awesome so I can catch some footage of my little one while she is still little. But really I am just looking forward to spending time with my family this Christmas season!
I’d like a sewing machine.
HomeGoods! This year I’m getting my father in law a bunch of interesting and semi-rare things like Himalayan salt and pink peppercorn. We share a cooking passion.
I myself, want any of Rachel Ray’s silicone coated spatulas and tongs!
