My maternal grandmother is a talented seamstress and enjoys cross-stitching too, and when my sisters and I were all little, she made us stockings for Christmastime. Each of our stockings has a different cross-stitched design on it.
When I married the guy, she made him one with airplanes on it, as a sort of welcome-to-the-family rite. So sweet!
And look what my grandmother sent in the mail this year!
I guess it’s official. We’re keeping the kid.
Thank you, Grandma Ann. It’s so special to have your handiwork displayed each Christmas, and I LOVE the poinsettias you picked out for Anneliese’s stocking.

Hi! I'm Emily. I'm a Navy wife and stay at home mom of two beautiful children. I cook simple, delicious, grain-free recipes, do crafts, decorate my home on a budget, and keep a happy household. I tandem breastfeed, babywear, cloth diaper, practice elimination communication, homebirth, and co-sleep, but I'm not a hippie.

I’m not going to lie- I got all teary at this!
I LOVE stuff like that!
Priceless!
Those are amazing. I hope I can get to that one day. My knitting skills are finally getting better.
I hope to start embroidery soon. What a wonderful keepsake.
What a sweet tradition!
How precious and priceless!
Those are beautiful stockings! And what a wonderful tradition to have
That is so sweet! And they are really pretty. My maternal grandmother did the same thing for my mom and aunts and uncles when they were kids. Then she made them for us when we were little. She did one for Drew too. We hope to get Ian’s this year when we go down for a visit at New Years.
It is such a sweet thing for our kids to have!
Oh wow, these are so sweet!
