… in (mostly) Instagrams. As I said before, most of the time I have my phone on me so I can keep in touch with friends (near and far)with facebook, twitter, and instagram, even if I don’t see another adult soul all day (though lately I’ve been seeing a lot of adult souls, which rocks!). It’s really fantastic. And I end up snapping lots of pictures throughout the day. Quite convenient. So when a week goes by and I realized I haven’t blogged (again), it helps me catch up!
Last week, my hubs was in San Diego for the Centennial of Naval Aviation celebration. He sent me these awesome photos of the huuuugetastic flyover. Those are jets, not birds. How crazy is that?

On Valentine’s day, I made my girl this hat.

Which I think is completely adorable.

And PSA for y’all…
These toys from Pink House? Definitely favorites. She really enjoys them.

Still V-day… I went out with some other squadron wives whose husbands were away, and we had dinner together. Then my girlfriend Amber and her kids and I went window shopping in the mall, and her little boy, Logan, got to fly a rocket ship. For real.

The next day? Poor boy was sick, so I got to steal my friend’s baby girl, Kaitlynn, while her brother went to the doctor.

Sweet little BFFs.

And a Starbucks playdate. (No pic of the babywearing nap that happened, but one totally did.) This is Rhett. He is adorable. But he moved. Sad panda.

Unswaddled sleeping is going pretty well, though sometimes the transfer to bed (if she falls asleep in my arms) is a little awkward.

I started crocheting a little dress, and found a mustache on Anneliese’s bath cow’s head. And a heart on its butt.

This past week, we’ve had at least 3 playdates in Starbucks, followed by a babywearing nap. Anneliese gets sleepy after playing for a while, so I tuck her in the ring sling and snug her feet against my chest, and she dozes off. I feel so fortunate to have good friends nearby with babies so close in age, especially since they also cloth diaper and babywear. It’s awesome to have such a great support system and women to bounce ideas and questions off of.
Anneliese, Ella, and Kaitlynn.

I finished Anneliese’s dress. I had thought I was making it bigger, for her to grow into, but it fits perfectly so she’ll probably only wear it a couple of times. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty cute.

One of the best parts of cosleeping is that I get to roll over and see this first thing in the morning.

Another Starbucks playdate that ended in a babywearing nap. Isn’t Anneliese’s friend Mellie so cute?

I’m thinking more teething might be coming in the next month or two, so went ahead and ordered 4 more boxes of Borion’s camilia. It had been taking foreverrrrr to ship, but now it looks like it’s Prime eligible. Free 2 day shipping, baby!
And more unswaddled sleeping, and sweet baby faces.

The office/craft room is the most un-roomified room in the house still, but this week I got my thread holder on the wall, with my pretty threads and sling rings. Exciting!

Sweet dog, sweet baby. Snuggling in bed after a nice nap.

Perfecting my baby thigh socks “Recipe”… added another seam that makes them much more awesome and *fitted* around the foot/ankle area.

Aaaaand… another Starbucks playdate (Logan and Kaitlynn). And another babywearing nap. Are we sensing a pattern? I have a (decaf) problem apparently… does anyone want to refill my Starbucks card? I take paypal!

Anneliese wasn’t sure about the whole sitting-on-Logan’s-lap thing at first. But she warmed up to him pretty quickly.

And the best thing this week? My guy came home. We are SO happy to see him.
Well, this face might not seem like it… but really, she was happy. He just smelled like boat when he came home. Which, as my friend Amber says, is enough to make any GROWN woman cry. It’s like metal, oil, fuel, body odor, and stale grime… combined.

After a bit, she got over the smell and was just happy to see DADDY!

And then? More baby-puppy hanging out.

And more unswaddled tummy sleeping…

Lovely life.
Eventually I’ll get back to posting more frequently again… sometime. Any tips for how to do that? (especially when the hubs is away?) I’m seriously like NEVER on my computer any more, and posting from my phone is far from ideal…Though I suppose I could.

They are truly cute, she looks more great when she saw her dad. I love that kids anyway, continue to have a beautiful life.

Hi Emily – I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now, haven’t commented before.
I love this hat you made for your daughter, it’s adorable!
Are you on Ravelry.com?

Hi Lindsay! Thanks for de-lurking to comment.
If I’m on Ravelry (I might have an account) I never sign in. haha. I put down my hook for a while and just started crocheting again recently. Not really looking for another forum to be on though, you know?

Awww, love all of these photos! Catch up posts are always fun! And I agree, we can always read your tweets. The only way I’m ever able to squeeze it in though is after the hubs and babe are asleep, then I crank out several. Not always ideal.

Your adorable little daughter looks so grown up! The older my baby gets the more like a big baby he looks but your little girl looks like a real girl! haha

I just love all of Anneliese’s adorable expressions! It seems like her little wheels are always turning! What a joy!
Just post when you can. You’ll start to have more free time as she approaches 2 years. Just enjoy her, the time will go in a blink of an eye and you’ll have a hard time remembering what she was like as a baby.

I post during naps although I may move to writing them at night after she goes to bed and scheduling them for the next morning. I guess it depends?
The crocheted dress is adorable and quite the accomplishment!
What a cute hat you made! Where did you get the pattern? I would love to make some too!

Thanks! I just “winged” it.
make a regular hat, then add ear flaps, the strings and tassels…
Absolutely adore the hat you made. Could you post the pattern? I would love to make one for my 1st grandchild expected at the end of April.

What do you do to make those baby socks? Do you start with tights?
Twitter: JoyfulAbode
Nope! I started with adult knee socks. The neon striped ones are from etsy and are a little big in the foot area, but she’ll grow into them. Same deal though – adult socks altered into kiddie thigh-highs.
What’s your method? Do you just redo the seam for baby legs?
Twitter: JoyfulAbode
i keep the width the same (of the leg) but redo the feet… i make a seam for the “toe pocket” part of the sock, and a seam to define the ankle.
