This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of LÄRABAR. All opinions are 100% mine.
I am so so so lucky, y’all. Crystal at Social Spark emailed me to ask if I’d like to taste some Larabars and write about them. I don’t know if you know, but in the primal/paleo community, EVERYONE RAVES about Larabars. The reason is, as far as grocery store convenience snacks go, this is pretty much the only one that is REAL FOOD. I’m not comparing these to bananas or hard boiled eggs. I’m talking about convenience snacks you could throw in your purse, diaper bag, or glove compartment for some undisclosed “later” time. You know, if you’re tired of trail mix.
Real food? Yup. The main ingredient in each LÄRABAR is dates. Then, depending on the flavor, each has other dried fruits, nuts, and spices (and a few have chocolate). Good stuff. Real food. And delicious.
The only problem? Everyone has a different favorite flavor. So, faced with so many choices, I could never decide which to buy (dude, y’all know I order everything off of amazon, and they sell Larabars in cases, so it would be a commitment). So even though they’re not expensive (about $1-2 in stores. Plus, now you can get your LÄRABAR coupon), I was frozen into inaction.
So when Crystal asked if I’d like a sampler pack and get to try tons of different flavors? I said YES. And I also wondered why I hadn’t checked out the Larabar site yet, which has the sampler packs* if you’re in the same predicament I was in. Go. Buy.

The sampler pack comes with the following flavors:
- Apple Pie
- Banana Bread
- Blueberry Muffin
- Carrot Cake
- Cashew Cookie
- Cherry Pie
- Chocolate Chip Brownie
- Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Chocolate Coconut Chew
- Coconut Cream Pie
- Key Lime Pie
- Lemon Bar
- Peanut Butter Cookie
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip
- Peanut Butter and Jelly
- Pecan Pie
So I’ve tried a bunch now, and let me tell you, they are ALL (so far) delicious. I’ve only had my sampler pack for a few days and didn’t want to eat 4 a day and gain 35 pounds (while they’re “real food,” dried fruit still has a lot of natural sugars, so don’t base your diet on Larabars please) so I haven’t tried them all yet, but here are my thoughts so far.

Also, Larabar was on The Biggest Loser recently. Hopefully it’ll get this yummy snack into the hands of many more people, and into more grocery stores.
Have you tried Larabars yet? If so, what’s your favorite flavor?

I have been buying Larabars for awhile now, since they are a GF healthy snack that works well for my girls to take to Sunday School, or when traveling, etc. B/c of the cost, though, we don’t eat them on an everyday basis. I’ve been looking around for an easy recipe to try making our own, and finally did yesterday. We decided on the Chocolate Chip Brownie ones, since as you put it, they are “holy Whoa freaking delicious”
and I have to say, I don’t why I didn’t start making them months ago! They were easy to make using my little 1 1/2 c. food chopper/processor, and instead of making them into bars, my girls shaped them into bite-size little ‘cookies’. Can’t wait to get some more dates so we can experiment w/ other flavors! I based the bars off of the choc. chip cookie dough recipe I found here, and just added some cocoa powder to the mix: http://www.cleaneatingonline.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59:larabar-recipe&catid=39:snack-recipes&Itemid=59
My fav is Banana Bread, you should definitely try one. I really want to try the brownie flavor you loved and the peanut butter and jelly.

My four year old has always loved the peanut butter and jelly flavor best. I like the pecan pie and apple pie best myself. I tend to go for the Tanka Bars for snacks in my purse. Though they do cost more, I feel they make my body happier and that’s my real object in eating.

I’ve only been gluten free for about a month, so Larabars have become my on-the go throw it in my purse just in case I’m starving later go to snack. It’s delicious, better than fast food, better than a plain bag of nuts, better than a boring old apple, and not a billion calories like some other bar style snacks. Love it <3

We love Larabars. My kids especially. (I have an allergy to walnuts and some tropical fruits, so my choices are more limited than theirs.) I went into Whole Foods where they’ve got an insane selection and bought two of every flavor so we could taste-test. Then I was able to buy the ones we couldn’t live without in bulk.
You know, I’ve been eating dates with almond as an after-meal snack. May be I should pick up these Larabars instead. Will look for Chocolate Chip brownie.
