Oops… I’m pretty behind on this. The pregnancy post before this one covered 3 weeks, and the one before that one was 2… so I guess it figures this one would be 4. Maybe the next post will be a BABY post (but I doubt it… I’ll try to update before then).
Just the Facts:
Weeks pregnant: 33 weeks, 2 days.
Gain: +26 pounds
Size of the baby: About 17 inches
Weight: Probably a bit over 4 pounds.
Other pregnancy related crap:
Emotional crap: I find myself thinking a lot about the adjustment from one child to two children, the way my time will be divided (and energy will need to be amplified). I’m really not worried but I’m CURIOUS about how it will go. I think it will be smooth… and don’t think Anneliese will have issues with the change. Not only that though, but my husband is coming home SOON and we’ll also be adjusting to having him back too. So in a matter of months, we’ll be going from a household of 2 to a household of 4. There will be a lot of changes. A lot of rebalancing necessary.
Physical crap: Pee. Lots of pee. I’m so tired of going to the bathroom. Sometimes I put It off because I just don’t feel like walking to the bathroom AGAIN. For the 10th time in the last hour. Interestingly (though not surprisingly), with being VERY STRICT about no grains/sugar for a couple weeks, my joints and things feel MUCH better. Definitely need to stay “good” about that. I had gotten into some bad habits with all the aversions in the beginning, but now that they’re gone, it’s time to be healthy/”clean” again.
What I want to devour: Milk. Cream cheese. Lots of raw vegetables. A bit of fruit. Grapefruits with some salt sprinkled on them. Some meat. Local pastured eggs with runny yolks along with crispy hash browns or roasted asparagus. Banana pecan waffles.
What makes me want to hurl: Nothing, really! Finally! It’s happened!
Supplements: Prenatal vitamin, calcium that has a little bit of Vitamin D in it. Vitamin D3, Fish Oil. Now and then a calcium-magnesium thing before bed if my legs have been getting crampy, but not every day.
Activity/Training: I forgot about this from last time… but because of the pee issue, it SUCKS to walk very far from home. You get out 15 minutes, and then realize you have to pee, and you have to race back home uncomfortably … so it’s better to do walks and such in shopping centers or malls. Sometimes I’ll take Anneliese to the Target shopping center, and just use a Target cart in all the stores… ducking into old navy, the hallmark shop (and realizing there’s not really room for carts in their aisles), shoe stores, etc. Lots of bathrooms for me, and I can drop off shopping bags at the car in between, and the car potty is there for Anneliese if she needs it. Of course, this doesn’t happen every day, but when I’m “out” I do make a conscious effort to do a couple hours of that type of thing. The last couple of weeks though, Anneliese has had a little cold AND we’ve been working on phasing out diapers, so we have been out less than the weeks before, when it seemed like we were BUSY EVERY DAY.
Birth prep: Lots of OB/MW appointments (I feel like I’m always meeting with SOMEone) and I’ve started chiropractic appointments too. After the first one, I was sore for a week. After the second one, I was sore for a couple of days. After the last one? Well that was after a couple weeks of really “clean” eating, which I mentioned above. Not sore at all. Chiro mentioned that things were “moving better” and it was easier to adjust things that were slightly out of place, and when he finished, I felt like I had had a wonderful massage. Just more motivation to stay “good” food-wise. I’ve been listening to pregnancy affirmations most days too, and need to start listening to the actual hypnosis CDs for hypnobabies.
Baby prep: Ummmmm….. we’re in minivan territory. Anyone want to buy a Suzuki Aerio? Where my kids at?
Tandem nursing / BOOBS: LOTS of nursing. Colostrum is here and Anneliese is a fan. I’m loving the snuggles and the fact that her latch is less playing/lazy/teething and more nursing/focused/cuddling now…
Some belly photos through the last month…
And if you want to see my “Real” maternity pictures? I had these maternity/lifestyle pictures done a couple weeks ago by Gingi Edmunds of Retrospective Imagery. Check them out on her website, and be sure to look at the collection on facebook too. I love these so much.
