Easiest Ever Balloon Garland

To make the easiest balloon garland ever, you just need a yarn needle, some yarn or smooth string (I used some cotton yarn I already had), balloons, and scissors.

Cut your yarn to the length of the garland you’d like, plus some extra for tying. Then thread one end through the yarn needle, and just thread through the “necks” of your balloons, below the knot.

Do a bunch in a row for a garland. (Try different color combinations for holidays and so forth. I just did red because Anneliese’s second birthday was all about strawberries.) You can adjust spacing once the garland is hung, simply by sliding the balloons along the string.

They’ll stay where you put them because the rubber hugs the string/yarn so well. So no knots needed!

You can also thread through several balloons in a row in order to make balloon clusters. I put a cluster of three on the back of Anneliese’s high chair for her birthday.

Such a simple way to decorate. It only takes a few minutes, and it really does look classically festive.

  1. [...] imagine how you'd use them in your own home (I hope the husbands/dads are reading this!). My easiest ever balloon garland is definitely happening over [...]

  2. The first time you posted a pic of the balloon garland, I decided that I needed to steal the idea. It looks so classy! If we have Sebastian’s next birthday at home, I’ll definitely be doing this!
