MAC makes a lip primer that really helps regular lipstick stay put all day. I was very pleased with the results.

Having worked at the cosmetics counter at Walgreens and dealt with all the run-of-the-mill stuff that you'll find in a non-department store, I would have to say, you would almost be better off just finding a color that you really love and reapplying it a few times through the day. The ones that I did try ended up being sticky, or else rather dry and uncomfortable to wear. They also have a tendency, as someone else mentioned, to give a painted look, and occasionally will bleed out of the lip lines if you aren't careful.

I have simply never been a fan of the long-lasting ones, though, because I don't think the colors really stay true all day, and I hate the way they feel. They can also be a royal pain to get off, if you buy the wrong one, or a color that's too bright or too dark.

I hope you find something that's perfect for you, though!

I like Maybelline for the 12 hour stuff, it's pretty good, but it would probably be a good idea to have an "essentials" purse, the conditioner coat needs to be touched up every hour or so. (I find, anyway).

The only other thing I can recommend is going to a department store and going round the make-up counters. Just make sure, if you're anything like me, that you make sure to specify you're going round trying several other brands before you purchase anything, otherwise those saleswomen can be really pushy!

benefit has a lip/cheek stain that I have tried at the store but never bought because I have too much lipstick already. I love it because it's just a tiny bit of color and it's not goopy on your lips all day. they sell it at columbiana mall at belk I believe. whatever store has the MAC counter and the Benefit counter right across from each other. it's a little bit of color without looking so painted on.

My sister wears those "color-stay" lipsticks and they stain your lips so unless you already have a shade you love you may not want to go that route. This is what I did for my wedding: apply foundation to your lips. It acts as a base. The next and most important step is to use a lip liner. I do this anytime I wear lipstick and it makes a big difference. You don't need an expensive lip liner either. I use those .99 cent ones from the grocery store. Try it and see what you think.

For the wedding day I had a small "wedding purse" with my lipstick and powder/mirror. I kept it under the table and did touch-ups as needed.

Good luck,

You are so beautiful! I can not wait to see wedding day pictures.

Color stay lipsticks always look rather "painted" and chalky but will do the trick. I don't have any recommendations, I never buy the same thing twice because there's just too many to try out there. The last one I tried was L'oreal and it was pretty good. The lighter the color the more you won't see the 'paint' effect. I tried a mocha and it spotted after a few hours, looking like a stippel design on my big bottom lip.
