Introducing… Creative Spaces!

posted in Creative Spaces |

creative spaces craft room decor features on joyful abodeI love having a space where I can create… my sewing machine is always at the ready, my ribbons are at hand, and my fabric is readily available. My other craft materials are organized by category: yarn/crochet, adhesives, cutting tools, embroidery threads and needles, notions, art journaling accents, and so forth.

However, like every space, my craft area can most certainly be improved upon. So, I’m looking for inspiration! I traversed the internet searching for artisans, crafters, and other creative folks who were willing to show off their creative spaces to our world of readers here at Joyful Abode. Lo and behold, they answered my call!

So, for the month of February, I will be pleased to present a Creative Space each day, alongside my regular posts. Each post will highlight one person’s creative space, whether it is an entire guest house transformed into a workshop, a basement space, the unoccupied guest bedroom, or the coffee table in the living room. You will take a visual tour of the space, and learn about the creative person working within.

If you’d like to keep up with these inspiring features, you can subscribe to Joyful Abode using your favorite subscription application, or add the feed as a friend on Livejournal. If you’re interested in having your creative space featured on Joyful Abode, let me know by commenting here (and be sure to include your email address so I can get in touch).

    Hi,

If you’re looking for more creative spaces to feature this month, I’d love to share mine! I turned the closet in our guest room into my craft and sewing space, although it does spill out into the room, what with my dress form and love of fabric. I incorporated those things into the decor of the room, however, and it’s pretty fantastic. Anyhow, the closet project was really simple and I have a few pics taken during the transformation. Let me know if you want to learn more!

    Hello,
Well my Craft Room is in my basement. It would be wonderful to share it with you. I have lots of storage for things and some of my cabinets came from the trash and some my husband made for me.

I am so inspired by others creative spaces. I’ve always had an art space to be free in. Started with that desk space in college to the door and cinder block shelves in that first apartment and then in the next couple houses I found room to create in my garages. I’m now in a house where I’ve been given the honor to “live” in my dining room. There are three in our family and each of us has a “creative room” to work in. My dear husband has the 4th bedroom and a darkroom in the basement. My daughter also has a room in the basement that would make many an artist drool (I do!!), she however ends up with me at my second desk quite often. It’s fun! I love my space (although I could use more of it!)

Hi, my name is Kathy and I would love to participate in your blog if your still asking people too. I do have a few picture’s of my craft room (it’s in my basement) and my blog is http://justbeingcrafty.blogspot.com
I like to sew and paint all kinds of things I make my own christmas ornaments every year (for about the last 5 years) and I love to decorate our home. I like to think that some of the things that I make are Something Worth Leaving Behind.

    Thank You

    Kathy
