Our New Abode - NAS Meridian, MS
So, I showed you pictures of our little garden already, but not pictures of the house!
Basically, we moved up to Meridian from Milton on May 16th (a Friday) and lived in a hotel (the CBQ or combined bachelor’s quarters, really) for 10 days. On May 25th (my birthday!) we moved out of the hotel and into our (empty) house! After a week and a day of empty-house living, the movers finally came. That was Monday. Now it’s Wednesday, I’m home unpacking and setting up the house while my husband is in a centrifuge in California trying not to pass out. Yes, seriously.
Very exciting!
So… a few pictures, because I know that’s why you’re here.
First, our house (but not our truck). It’s a duplex. We live on the left side, and the right side is basically a mirror image. A Marine, his wife, and their golden retriever and black lab all live next door.

This is the huge dining room. I have big plans for it! Unfortunately I think our living room is actually smaller than the dining room, which is odd.

You KNOW I’m excited about this kitchen. The fridge is to the left and there is a dishwasher, more cupboards, and a walk-in pantry to the right.

You can see more pictures in my flickr set. This house is seriously going to spoil us, especially in terms of storage space… the closets are numerous and huge.
Tomorrow I’ll post post-movers pictures. So much chaos all at once! Then, stay tuned for a big surprise and some empty-house-cooking posts (along the same lines of the hotel-cooking posts from earlier) I haven’t gotten a chance to get written yet.
