I think it depends on what type of coat your dog has. We usually bathe Dottie every 6 to 8 weeks. Any more often dries out her skin. Usually it's just her feet that smell like corn chips...I call her Frito Paws :)

We tend to wash our dog once a week; she rarely goes two weeks without a bath. Once she starts smelling like corn chips, we know it's time.
We also use Aloe-Oatmeal Shampoo that our vet recommended, so it shouldn't be too harsh to use weekly.

Yup, Danny! It's Aloe Oatmeal shampoo... which is supposed to not wash away her flea/tick prevention the way harsh detergents would. And I definitely agree it smells fantastic!

I don't want to use "stand up" because later I want to teach her "stand" ... like to stand up (4 paws) from a sitting or down position.

Helena, I wonder why he smelled so bad! "Tummy" is kinda cute. hehe.

When we first got Rocky he smelled *awful* and we had to bathe him about once a week, which dried out his skin, even using gentle soap. Every 4-6 weeks seems to work well now--with exceptions if he rolls in something stinky!

To get him to stand on his hind legs we say "tummy" because he's showing us his tummy. But "person" would certainly work too. :)
