2010 In Review – The Year That Made Us Three

IMG_2632.jpg

It’s still January, so I figure I’m still allowed to do “year end wrap-up” type posts and “new year goal setting” posts. We’ll start with the former. 2010 was a pivotal year in a lot of ways. I was pregnant for more than half of the year, became a mother, learned that my family would…

Get in while the Giving’s Good!

So, right now on Joyful Abode, I’m giving away lots of stuff – and money! Do you like the giveaways? Tired of them? Would you rather they didn’t show up on the RSS feed, but you could get them on the site? Or do you wish you could choose whether to subscribe to a feed…

New Site Layout is Live!

Like I said last night, it’s not finished. But since the old layout was getting SO messed up as I worked on the new one, I figured I’d get this one up as soon as it was working. You’ll notice a few things if you’re looking around (if you’re reading this in an RSS reader…

Still oops…

I’ve “broken” my current site even more, by working on the new layout… so much for the “theme test drive” plugin. Sidebars are screwed up, thumbnails are gone, who knows what else? I’m sorry it looks SO BAD. I’m having a few issues with the new theme but hopefully will get them worked out shortly….

Oops

So I’ve been getting ready to update my site significantly. It will be FAR easier to find recipes you’re looking for, craft projects, posts about Zora, gDiaper posts, or whatever strikes your fancy. Most of this has been crazy behind the scenes stuff you probably haven’t even noticed. But today I did something you probably…

No Recipe Shrimp–NaBloPoMo

IMG_4402.jpg

I thought these were decently good, but my husband said they weren’t good enough. So you don’t get the recipe. And this is my post for the day. I’m doing NaBloPoMo again, where you post every day in November. Well, sometimes there isn’t a whole lot to say. Or things you want to say but…

New Stuff on the Site

New Stuff on the Site

I did some things I’ve been meaning to do for a while now. It took forever. I hope you like it. (LIKE IT, PLEASE.) I made this page – Must Reads, for anyone who is jumping into Joyful Abode and hasn’t been around for the last 3 years of my writing. Do you have any…

Blog Update About the Blog

Blog Update About the Blog

Ooh… how meta. So lately I’ve been trying to update some things on the blog. First, I finally got the recipe archive up to date. Then, I quickly outdated it again by posting new recipes (don’t worry – I’ll periodically update the archive). After about a year of using (and loving) Disqus for the comment…

Recipe Index is Updated!

Recipe Index is Updated!

I’ve been behind on updating the recipe index, but today I added the 14 most recent recipes to it, so it’s current again! Check it out to make sure you didn’t miss anything good. Lots of grain-free real-food recipes that are sure to make your mouth water and your tummy smile. You know, if tummies…

It’s finally here! – Joyful Abode’s Complete Recipe Index

It’s finally here! – Joyful Abode’s Complete Recipe Index

So my readers (yes, that’s you, you lovely person) have been asking me for a LONG time now to make a recipe index. And I’ve put it off and put it off and put it off… and what do you know? The longer I put it off, the more work I have to do to…

Life is Good, and Kale Chips

Life is Good, and Kale Chips

Life is so good. I might be tired all the time still, and maybe I don’t have much of an appetite, but I’m not feeling so sick all the time anymore, and I have an amazing husband who takes such good care of me, our dog, and our house. Hopefully soon I’ll feel even better…

I’m back! With a little surprise.

I’m back! With a little surprise.

I’ve been away from the blog for more than one reason. I guess I should air them out and let you in on my life, right? 1) First there was the move, and the unpacking and settling-in. That excused me for maybe a week and a half. 2) Then my husband was away at survival…
