Barefoot and Pregnant in the Kitchen–Weeks 30, 31, 32, 33

Oops… I’m pretty behind on this. The pregnancy post before this one covered 3 weeks, and the one before that one was 2… so I guess it figures this one would be 4. Maybe the next post will be a BABY post (but I doubt it… I’ll try to update before then). Just the Facts:…

This post is brought to you by NESTING – label maker, baskets, decluttering, organizing, and so forth. With a sprinkling of tandem nursing.

17 Months and Growing So Fast

IMG_3019.jpg

I’m so lucky to have spent another month with this beautiful little lady. I can’t believe I get to help her and support her as she grows, and watch her become the person she was meant to be. What a fantastic job to have!!! Anneliese has grown to be pretty flexible in her schedule….

The last couple of weeks have been all about decluttering/nesting, guzzling milk, nursing my teething baby, and growing Baby2.

Handmade Christmas–Part 7: Christmas Eve Nightgown

IMG_6000.jpg

A lot of people I know have a pajama tradition for Christmas. Usually it’s a gift that each child can open on Christmas Eve – brand new exciting pajamas! I think most years my mom made my sisters and me matching pajamas, and I think the handmade-ness of it is kind of special. There’s nothing…

Handmade Christmas–Part 4: Hand-painted Rainbow Matryoshka Nesting Dolls

IMG_5886.jpg

This handmade Matryoshka project took about a week of evening sketching and painting, but the labor of love was well worth it! A little rainbow nesting doll set for my daughter was the result, and I hope she loves playing with it as much as I loved nesting dolls when I was a kid.

Christmas Books Advent Countdown – A New Family Tradition

IMG_5744.jpg

I have so many winter/Christmas/Hanukkah/Holiday children’s books, and this tradition will make sure they are all read and enjoyed each year. I’m looking forward to seeing how this tradition evolves, and how my kids become more involved in it as the years go by.

16+ Months of Anneliese

IMG_5645.jpg

My little girl is 16 months old (well, and like 8 days, because I’m behind on this…) and she could not be more awesome.  She’s been surprising me every day with new words and signs, adorable mannerisms and even spontaneous hugs and kisses. This past month has been incredible for my girl. Words, Words, Words…

Barefoot and Pregnant in the Kitchen–Weeks 21-22

Just the Facts: Weeks pregnant: 22 weeks Weight: 146? I don’t know. I was 142 yesterday, but 146 this morning. It was insane. And might have had something to do with the 2.5 glasses of water, glass of chocolate milk, and 2 (individual) bottles of coconut water I had in the 3 hours before bed…
