We decided to make our first leg a shorter day, stopping at NAWS China Lake for the night.
During our drive, we stopped for lunch at Subway in Bakersfield and had salads (with EVOO from home).
Once we arrived on base, and checked into the temporary family lodging, I made steak, salad, and vegetables for us all. We thought we would take advantage of having a kitchen while we could.
Even though the museum across the street was closed for the day (and not open early enough tomorrow) we got to see the first-ever Hornet, which is pretty cool!
