I used to watch The X-Files. EVERY Friday with my girl friend Bettina. I read books about paranormal events. I gobbled up stories about UFO sightings. And yeah, I do believe. The universe is so darned huge it’s impossible for me to think that we are the ONLY intelligent living things out there.

So I could have spent all day at the UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico. I thought it would be really really cheesy, but it is just a huge collection of newspaper clippings, letters, affidavits, photographs, medical records, and more. I could have read all day long.

Could have, but didn’t. Because there is absolutely NOTHING hands-on. Nothing for kids to do. Nowhere for them to play or engage. So my sweet husband corralled the kids while I read some cool stuff, and then I took them while he skimmed the Area 51 exhibit. Then we left.

I would LOVE to go back sometime, either when the kids are older, or without them. Who knows when that will be though.
OKAY, okay… so SOME of it is cheesy displays… but when your topic is UFOs and extraterrestrial life, it’s gotta be hard to resist. And who doesn’t love a good life-size alien diorama?

We were also going to go see the Living Desert State Park, but somehow forgot… then we were going to go to Carlsbad Caverns, but since it’s a national park, it was closed due to the Big Shutdown. So on we went!
